Silverfish are typically found in areas of high humidity with temperatures between 72 to 81 degrees F. They are usually only found indoors or in garages. They absolutely love to eat materials high in starches, glue and cellulose such as paper and book bindings.

Silverfish typically live two to eight years and do not like the light. They are very fast runners and therefore are difficult to catch or swat. They are excellent at hiding in small dark cracks or under papers.
